Often I have encounters with individuals that are blessed with these incredible talents. I attempt network as much as I can..
However, even in the midst of my job, completing my education, working on my 2nd book, being of service to my clients, and now attending to "Prince", trying to get back into church at a regular pace and when I get the chance just taking the time to be an actual couch potato for once, you know just stopping and smelling the roses...

So this one is for you..

New Addition

At 3am this morning I woke up. Jumped on the SPCA website and reviewed the recipients for adoption again. My preference since I have begun my search has been a miniature pincher.

I woke up again about 11am and searched again. They were all beautiful. One caught my eye by the name of, "Monsier" However there was not an instant connection.

My internet zoned out, and I was not longer able to view.. I then saw a miniature pincher text, however I did not see the photo.

I refreshed my page, and Voila! The cutiest dog that you would ever see.

I walked out the door and did not think anything until I met up with a girlfriend, to chat and do laundry at a local laundry facility..

I raved about this dog, I had to.. She works at a veternary clinic.. I said to her," While our clothes are drying let's go look at him..

My fellow readers I am not aware if you know of the adoption process.

I recalled that I had been looking at this site for about 3 months, and I read up on everything..

Ya know I did my research..So ladies and gentleman..

Introducing, a new addition to my life.
Ooh and did I neglect to mention that he came with a purple collar.. LOL

Being a Blessing

In many ways we can be a blessing to others. At times. It may result in us stepping outside of our comfort zone. (I am still in training, however I can almost see the gold)
There have been times when I have spent my last dime, given my last $5.00, and taken away from myself to be a blessing to others.
There was no need for me to be boastful, or brag about my good deeds. Due to the fact that I know where my help comes from. Thus when I am in need, I know that I will never go hungry, I know that when my pockets feel a little light, it's only temporary, when my vision is slightly impaired, there will be a remedy for me to see again, and when I feel that my heart and spirit may be slightly broken, because of life's curve balls. I can always kneel down on my knees, bow my head and pray. And ask the father to help me.
This entry has been influenced by someone that I have known for about 12 years. A great friend of mines that is stepping out on faith to make her contribution to our society. When I got the news I immediately prayed for her and offered her my support. My friend is taking on the responisibility to become a foster parent. She is already a parent of 2 beautiful boys. Yet, she finds more room, to reach out and touch another child's life.
What can you say for people like this in the world? They not only think of just themselves. But live their lives to be a blessing to others.
This task will be a challenge. But God is in control. My fellow readers, I solicit your prayers, and words of encouragement for my friend that I consider my sister. I think it is so awesome when we find it in our spirit and our hearts to consider being a blessing to others.
My passion in life is to seek to be better everyday, pray to God for those around me and then myself, and during the week make my attempts to make a difference somehow. Believe you me, a smile goes a long way.

Sounding off, for now until the next time

Reflections of 2008

Greetings,

This year has just begun, and yet I am reaping my rewards.
God has been so good to me, and I am so grateful for all the great blessings that I have received in 2008.
My first book, " Chronicles Of A Mended Heart", was just the tip of the ice berg. Self exploration, gratitude, a testimony, and in a nut shell, Shametra really realizing how blessed she is. I have overcome so many speed bumps, yet when I reflect on 2008. I have accomplished just as much.
I am learning the true value of friendship, and boundaries. It's really ok. To have your quiet moments. It allows you time, to project and really reflect.
To allow the Lord time to speak to your heart. So that you know when to make the next move, proceed to the next level.
What I have realized is, without God in my life, I would have not accomplished as much as I did.
I think my knees are a bit dusty ya'll
Dusty, from all the praying that I did, to draw closer to my savior, dusty to plead to God that I need his love, and I can't live without him, and dusty because, I had to pray for change.
Change does not have to be negative, it can be considered, something that represents, newness. A change for the better.
And Change is always good.
This year I will not set a resolution. However I will continue on the path that has been set forth before me.
So 2009 will serve as a reminder, of the love that I have, the great friends that are really there, my education, writing my 2nd book and taking the steps to be healthy. Which I have invested alot of my time doing.

So as Micki Howard says, I am love under new management. Do you all remember that song? HA HA
If I could offer a mild story of what I would love for my year to be.

It would be this!

Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship Mass Choir- "Bow Down"
Yolanda Adams- "Never give up"
Jill Scott- "Show me"
Dwele- "Hold on"
Mary J Blige- "Come to me (in peace)"
Yael Naim- "New Soul"
Mos Def- "Umi Says"
Tye Tribett " Victory"

You can go to
www.imeem.com, to view any of these song titles and artists.

My suggestion to you would be, first seek the kingdom of God and all his righteous, and all things will be given unto you. Pray, pray, pray. It's amazing that at times we second guess ourselves, and at times don't know the right decisions to make, but when you pray and allow the Lord precedence over your decisions, you can never get a wrong answer. He knows what is best for you. NO ONE can love you like him..
Pray for our new president, pray for your family, your friends, and your enemies. Take time read a book, spend some time with yourself, organize and prioritize your life, goals, etc. One of my personal moments by myself is going to the lake and writing, and watching the sun set. It's amazing.. Just to watch the water, and the environment..
Blessings to you and yours. May this year be filled with blessings, and may you set out to accomplish just as much as you put your mind to do.

Signing off for now, until the next time!

Happy New Year!
