Wow! We did it. We came together to assist in making a change in this world.
I am so exciting, of the change, of the history that has been made right before my very eyes.
This is a new way to look at the changes unfold, as we watch our FIRST african american president step forward with such dignity and respect to serve our country in such a way that will bring change.
Not only has history been made, but so many children have gotten involved in our public schools to take the responsibility of wanting to interact in this great election. Yall I don't know bout you, but when I see our youth interesting in something so important as this. It just makes me so proud. The children are our future. And there future looks mighty bright.
God bless Obama as he goes on his journey as the President of the United States Of America!
YES YOU CAN!
YES WE CAN!
AND YES HE DID!
Congrats Obama, we are behind you..

Shametra Answer's

So!
I have been asked many questions, some I have been asked that I was not prepared to answer and some I have asked on the run. For instance I am in the cereal aisle at HEB ( by the way I was purchasing my favorite- raisin brand crunch) LOL! , and I am asked are you the one that wrote the book that we saw in Ujima magazine? I heard you on the radio when you did your interview. So can you tell me how you published your book?
Basically these types of conversations have their scheduled time and dates. I don't mind at all..
There is a time and place for everything. I just recently met with a couple and they were so nice, we talked for about 2 hours, I had a friend that introduced us, and we scheduled a time and date to sit down and talk about the publishing world. After it was all said, the three of us concluded with a very enlightening conversation about the blood, sweat and tears that it took to even produce the book.
So.....
I would like to take this opportunity to answer any of your questions and to get feedback of what you thought about the book.
In my opinion constructive criticism is vital to help you grow. Sometimes it may not be what you want to hear, but once you reflect on it, it's edifying to your spirit..
Hey that's just my opinion.
If you want to be a good teacher, you have to be an outstanding student. By practicing effective listening and duly noting what can eventually make a change in your life.
So with that said peeps, let's hear it.
Peace and love

1st magazine interview and thanks

Greetings,
This month has been a month of surprises, my 32nd birthday, blessings, loves, test, as well as many challenges and my first interview with a magazine. Yes you got it Ujima Magazine! Ujima magazine is committed to reporting on community events in Austin Texas and surrounding areas. They profile people that are everyday hero's that contribute to the community.
Thus when asks to interview I picked up my pooch and we headed to Starbucks, sipped on a white chocolate mocha and it was like sitting down with family. I thought that it would be nerve wrecking, but when you pray, and keep it real. Hey the real you shines through. I am grateful that I had this opportunity, and I am grateful for all of you guys that have supported my new book and those that are pondering the idea of supporting it. This is a new journey y'all, and I have lived one of my dreams..Whew! One down 2 to go! My next dream is pending and will be unveiled in due time..Until we meet again my friends....Remember look up to the sky at least once, stop and smell those roses, and remember that love is free... Sooooo, if you really want to see what I had to say about ???
Pick up an October issue of Ujima magazine...
Locations participating HEB stores, JaeUndrea's Natural Hair Care Salon, ACS Salon & Spa, Fashionique, Ann's Salon, Hoovers, JKelley's Bar B que, and Gene's on 11th street.
